Alright 02:31
Leaves fallin' down, kids back in school Red yellow and brown but the gold always rules The sun'll keep shinin' on the wise men and the fools But if you wanna reap the harvest ya gotta have the right tools I'm drifting through the clouds and the papal addresses Politicians saying they'll clean up our messes Economists and scientists and college professors They torture the data until it confesses But the fresh wind is still blowin' Clean snow is still snowin' I know it'll be alright So let's shake it up tonight Well it's hard to keep up with all these Kardashians Surgical diets and plasticized passions Everything that we need's in our own reflections But if it's something we can't have it becomes our obsession I'm drifting through the clouds and the papal addresses Politicians saying they'll clean up our messes Economists and scientists and college professors They torture the data until it confesses But the fresh wind is still blowin' Clean snow is still snowin' I know it'll be alright So let's shake it up tonight Shake it up tonight

Take A Drink 03:34
When skies get grey, clouds won't go away I'm feeling all blah at the end of the day I need a little treat to set me right again I take a drink, I'll take a drink When friends come to call they've got that working pall Can't stand to see them beaten down by it all I mix me up a pick me up that's sure to cure it all Here, take a drink, I'll take a drink Now I don't abide overdoing my imbibing no no All good things in moderation 'cept moderation oh oh I can see that you're thirsty, in need of something strong You've been toiling you've been roiling all the workday long I've got a little recipe that'll help you right along Here, take a drink, I'll take a drink Now there's many that will tell you drinking is a sin That's alright bartender, don't let those sad sacks in! Here take a drink, I'll take a drink, let's have a drink, just one more drink Just one more drink

What was that noise? Just be quiet for a second Was it some kinda rodent that the cat let in? Did I leave the door open? I mean I just can't even Well come in relax and join me, I'm just sittin' down eatin' I'm just trying to keep going It's good to see you my dear friend I've never been this old before But I'll never be this young again Sometimes I feel so tired with the weight of the world People everywhere up front with their flags unfurled So many diseases that can never be cured People believing every crazy idea they've ever heard I'm just mindin' my own business Unless I've got a helping hand to lend I've never been this old before But I'll never be this young again The past ain't gonna change And the future's unknown What you do with the present Is up to you alone It's not getting any better Of that there's no doubt So just take it while you can for what it is right now I'm finding it's a thin line 'tween a wish and a worry The future's gonna come ain't no reason to hurry I don't mean to borrow trouble I don't need to feel sorry We won't know till then if it's a blizzard or a flurry Would you argue with a fish? Would you try to debate with a hen? I've never been this old before But I'll never be this young again Never be this young again Never never never never Never be this young again Never be this young again

The world’s a beautiful place And it’s got plenty of space for me I could travel all around and take it all in from sea to shining sea I could paint its picture, I could sing its song I could treat it right, or I could right its wrongs But is it a life well lived if no one loves me? I’ve seen some glorious sunsets I met a bald eagle and a mountain lion Been on top of a canyon, at the bottom of a sea so pretty it caught me crying I’ve solved some puzzles, I’ve built some tables I’ve petted some sheep and I’ve mended some cables If I told you I was proud to do it alone I was lying So how do I fill this empty feeling? I can close my eyes and focus on breathing But how do I pretend that I don’t care I know I shouldn’t need affirmation From a world that offers no consolation But wherever I am it feels like I’m not there I’m sorry that I feel sorry for myself I know I should just set it aside Put it on the shelf and hide it where no one finds it But I also know my heart’s an open book It’s not a secret worth a second look It’s not like there’s some revelation behind it I’ll jump right in and Join the Dance I’ll try and give you a smile I’ll keep on trying and plow right on at least for a little while I’m a lonesome poet I’m a one-man band Searching for angels to come and take my hand And guide me along through my last miles So how do I fill this empty feeling? I can close my eyes and focus on breathing But how do I pretend that I don’t care I know I shouldn’t need affirmation From a world that offers no consolation But wherever I am it feels like I’m not there I can make myself a little fire I can feel the forest breeze I can lay myself down right on the ground and watch the moonlight through the trees I may be all alone, may not have a home May be tired of rambling, may not care to roam There’s a pretty fine line between aimless and free So how do I fill this empty feeling? I can close my eyes and focus on breathing But how do I pretend that I don’t care I know I shouldn’t need affirmation From a world that offers no consolation But wherever I am it feels like I’m not there

Winds blow away the tracks in the snow How can I follow? Where can I go? The trail disappeared long ago Not a trace left ahead or behind or below Snowflakes are falling, it's Valentine's Day Its piled so high the plows can't find their way It's 10 degrees now, but it feels 10 below I'm stuck here in Seekonk, now where can I go? This place's been a ghost town for years People pass through but they never stay here There's no point in hanging around They board it all up, then they tear it all down All you can do is just hope for the best Choose a direction let Time do the rest Try and use your time wisely, it's all that you've got It 'll move right along, if you're ready, or not I suppose that it's time that I went Saddled my pony, packed up my tent One step, two steps, three four five Savor being alive And know that you'll never arrive

If I stumble if I fall If I slide into the creek If I trip along the train track With these shackles on my feet Would you pick me from the stickerbush If I’m covered all in mud Would you help me pull out all the thorns And wipe off all this blood I need to know Is your love true Would you help me find my way back if I lost my way from you I’m all alone And I’m running Out of Time I need to know if you’re still out there and if I’m… still ever on your mind When the dark clouds roll on in All heavy with rain When the winds begin to whippin’ All the troubles in my brain Will you listen to my story Will you hear the tale I tell Through all the pounding thunder And the ringing of the bells I need to know Is your love true Would you help me find my way back if I lost my way from you I’m all alone And I’m running Out of Time I need to know if you’re still out there and if I’m… still ever on your mind My clothes are soaked right to the bone and I’m shivering inside I don’t know where I’m going, I got no place left to hide If I stumble if I fall If I slide into the creek If I trip along the train track With these shackles on my feet Would you pick me from the stickerbush If I’m covered all in mud Would you help me pull out all the thorns And wipe off all this blood I need to know Is your love true Would you help me find my way back if I lost my way from you I’m all alone And I’m running out of time I need to know if you’re still out there and if I’m… still ever on your mind Still ever on your mind

Everything here has all been here before The wind and the waves and the sea and the shore The songs that we sing are the notes that we hear Things that we want are the things that are near There’s thunder and lightning inside of the stone And mountains and caverns you don’t walk alone But shadows are turning back into the light And pinnacles climbing down from a great height The bird wants the sky and the sky wants the rain The rain it wants to be ocean again Rocks into sand and sand into sea Everything’s trying its best to be free The things we have lost will all come back again Loved ones and lighters and misplaced red pens Money in couches and lovers through doors Will come back as something we’ve not yet looked for So you the sweet ocean and you the soft sand Were once walking with me and holding my hand And the birds o’er the sea were once a dear friend Everything circles and changes and bends The bird wants the sky and the sky wants the rain The rain it wants to be ocean again Rocks into sand and sand into sea Everything’s trying its best to be free

Jesus came cruisin' up Highway 61 on his gold & black Harley-Davidson With two flags whippin' over twin tailpipes- the POW-MIA and the Stars & Stripes He had a lit cigar clenched in between his teeth As he passed me by he sipped a beer and winked at me Well it's alcohol, tobacco, and firearms He said, "it sounds like a party to me" Alcohol, tobacco and firearms Ain't that the way Jesus wanted it to be? With an iron cross sticker on his license tag and a 30-06 strapped to his saddlebag We've got 35 bottles set up on the back fence One for every 100 dollars that he owes in back rents From 60 yards we've already hit 34 After one more bottle we'll drink 35 more 'Cause it's alcohol, tobacco, and firearms Said, "it sounds like a party to me" Alcohol, tobacco and firearms Ain't that the way Jesus wanted it to be?
