electrical guitars made majestical sounds

as that giant bird went up in flames

i looked into your eyes but there was nothing inside
it was clear we had come to the end of our ride
and this time we both knew when that phoenix burned down
there was nothing left in those ashes this time to rise from the ground

was there ever a time in this life i've been livin'
when my heart didn't feel it was locked in a prison
guilty as sin, with those sins unforgiven
but my case never even made it to trial

looking back i'm not sure what you wanted from me
i only know i wasn't treated like i wanted to be
